Local man captures video of what may be mythical Ogopopo
November 14, 2011
Richard Huls, a Vancouver resident, saw something weird in the Okanagan Lake and immediately reached for his phone to record a video. The Vancouver Sun reports that Huls believed the unnatural, dark shape in the water to be the mythical creature Ogopopo. Ogopopo is nearly as famous as Scotland's Loch Ness monster, and Huls claims that his video proves that there is something unnatural living in the water of the Canadian lake.
"It was not going with the waves," Huls told the news source. "It was not a wave obviously, just a darker color. The size and the fact that they were not parallel with the waves made me think it had to be something else."
People may want to makes calls to Canada to talk to their friends about this mysterious creature and the likelihood of its existence. Especially since John Kirk, a researcher from the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club told Discovery News that the existence of the Ogopopo is far more likely than that of Nessie. He says that there have been far more reported sightings and better-quality video and photos of the mythical creature than its Scottish cousin.
